Is it the pump? I downgraded from my mag 18 to a mag 9 which shoots up about 4 feet of 1.25 pvc with a dual return at the top...now all i get out of each side is micro bubbles....is it the pump? Do i need to down grade the pvc size?

If microbubbles are entering the pump, then you will have microbubbles in the tank. Stop the bubbles from getting into the pump, no more microbubbles. However, if you have a closed loop...then you may have a opening somewhere in the pvc connections.

We need more info, or better yet, pictures of the plumbing setup including sump. We don't need pictures of the microbubbles entering the tank.

Is the pump internal or external?
If its a new pump air pockets can stay trapped inside the pump, give it a few days the bubbles should stop.
If the pump is in your sump you should have 3 baffles before the return pump chamber, and a lot of water in that chamber so the pump doesn't suck air.

I agree with Dean pics or more info is needed.

Air is getting in, if it was a bad PVC connection it would shoot out water (leak) at the joint. Not let air in. Do you see any leaks?, Can it be bubbles from your sump/skimmer thats being returned into the tank?

There are no leaks as far as water anyways, any other suggestions on finding this air leak? Also my tank seemed to have dissapeared since this bubble epidemic appeared
