AI Director question

I just bought a director used. Unfortunately when I attempt to associate it with my account, I get the error in the Subject below.vvvvvvvvvvvv

( Director with serial number xxxxxxxx is already registered )

Has anyone dealt with this situation and can advise me on how to fix it.
The lights work and I can set them but this message pops up constantly.

Contact AI and let them know u bought used. They will release the serial. Happened to me too
