I've been reading mixed reviews on using live rubble in one of the chambers of the AIO systems - my LFS recommended it at first, so I went with it - but as of late, I've been having high Nitrate levels (40 PPM and higher) - I change 20% weekly, only feed every other day, and have recently noticed Red flatworms in my back chamber that has chaeto (which I've read is directly proportional to nutrient levels)

All I can think of is removing the rubble that I have in a mesh bag - in a 12 gal system, one entire back chamber is full of rubble.

How many people use rubble?

This is my first post - so take it for what its worth.

I have run a 12 gallon aquapod before and I did rubble in a back chamber. It seemed to work as I wanted it to. Also everyone says to do it in forums when you start looking for AIO mods...

But that doesn't mean that it is working for you - do you have a saltwater bucket you could stick the rock in for a few days and see what happens after a water change?
