Okay so here goes nothing so ive continued to read that in order to maintain a good PH balance in your tank that you should improve the air to water mix so i have a question. 1st would anyone suggest placing a air-stone inside the fish tank ( sps dominated tank ) or would i get the same effect if i placed an air-stone inside the sump 2nd which if any would you suggest i use :smash::smash:

the idea of the air in the tank is to reduce the carbon dioxide percentage in the tank since CO2 is acidic, it would be the same thing as if putting it in the sump as in the dt except for the aesthetics. my guess is your tank has a overflow and another guess is that you have a decent skimmer, macro algae and a powerhead in/on yout tank or sump practically doing the same exact thing. on another note pending the sand and rock you have may buffer the ph as well making the airstone pretty useless and more of a menace just with the extra salt creep and bubbles

Air stones + SW tanks = salt creep
Exception - a fish in QT
You will do more to help your pH by making sure you get fresh air into your house on a daily basis by opening a window for a few minutes a day. Don't forget to close it though!!
