All the plant matter appears to be thining out and not sure why

Could my light be done. Ive had a small coralife light on it for about 8 mos. consistantly running. Could this be the problem, could it be something else?

All of my tests came back fine, 0 amm, 0 nitrite, nitrites 10 and phosphates a bit high but this shoud be good for the plant life. I believe my water to be good, it is in an established reef tank with many corals, anemones, etc. All look great! I stay consistant to my 5-10 gallon a week water changes

Algae won't grow in a low nutrient system. If your goal is to have a low nutrient system where nuisance algae doesn't grow and you're successful at it, you'll never be able to sustain a refugium. The use of macro algae in a refugium is to add a type of algae that will out compete the algae currently in your display tank. If you don't have algae in your display tank, that is to say if you tank cannot support nuisance algae, it certainly will not be able to support the much larger macro algaes.

If you nitrates are indeed zero than there is your answer. Algaes need nitrates.

Are you adding Iron and Manganese? What size Kelvin bulbs are you using? I am running 6700K on my refugium. 5500K is also a good bulb.
