i realize that there seem to be 2 diametrically opposed schools of thought regarding the level of oversite needed to ensure product integrity, as proposed for practice by mac, and seems to be implied, by one of their certifiers, 'tavel'
at least so it seems to me
i don't know if it's an issue to alot of people, and some may see it as nitpicking, but i see it (mac's present template) as having a major loophole opportunity, and/or a very weak link in the chain, by allowing a facility to house all types of catch method sources under the same (relatively small) roof, for one...
but i was wondering anyway, as a thought experiment, this afternoon....
would tagging fish (possibly a very large amount)w/a micro chip post catch as 'imitation drugged/suspect'
and observing if any mixing occurs at retail level, as they go through the chain, prove if it was possible or not, under the present template?
(the fish would be tracked, but not by the MO chain, so exporters/importers would not know what came in how, from the beginning, to avoid interference w/the actual processes of the transfers in the MO chain-this also assumes the chips are undetectable to the naked eye :wink:
)
or is the beer too early in the day for me ? 8)
i'm just wondering if the test method is correct for determining the possibly fictitious hypothesis :wink:
