Hi Guys,

The word for today is Anion:
A negatively charged particle the size of an atom or molecule.

RowaPhos removes anions from water. PO4 is negatively charged so it is an anion. Bicarbonate is also negatively charged and therefore an anion. Alkalinity is how we measure bicarbonate in our tanks. Therefore RowaPhos will also lower the alkalinity because it removes anions.

I think it would be cool to have a word of the day. Not sure how this would work. As a test, I'll post some for the next week. It may not be everyday  If you see a word of the day, please post using it in a sentence - Educational is good, but funnier is better!

If this is too juvenile, let me know.

So that is the stuff in the water purifier?

Anions are negatively charged and Cations are positively charged. What are some of the cations and anions that are removed in the water purification process?

Right - "DI resin" is what is inside a "DI cartridge."

What's removed in the RO and DI process? Calcium, Sodium, Magnesium, Potassium, Manganese, Iron, Aluminum, Copper, Nickel, Cadmium, Silver, Zinc, Mercury, Chloride, Ammonium, Bromide, Phosphate, Cyanide, Sulfate, Thiosulfate, Silicate, Bicarbonate, Nitrate, Sulphite, Borate, Fluoride, Phosphate, Strontium, Barium, Chromate, Chromium, Ferrocyanide, Bacteria, Lead, Arsenic, and Selenium, to name a few.
