Another Clown Question

Ok so I did somthing that is generally frowned upon for obvious reasons. I added a Perc. clown to my 37G reef that is already inhabited by a tomato clown. As expected the tomato didnt like it very much! My Perc clown was forced to one of the top corners for a few days. Ive noteced, however that he has managed to make it down to about half way down the aquarium wall. The tomato clown doesn't APPEAR to be picking at him nearly as much. Willl things progressively get better? or is he just taking a break before he kills it? Anyone have experiance with these 2 clowns together??

I have not actually tried to pair those two species. I would expect the Tomato to eventually kill the Ocellaris 999 times out of 1000 in a 37 gallon tank unless you put in a divider.

He might get used to the percie being in there with him, anythings a possiblity, but I doubt it. Of my experiences mixing clowns, tomatoes hate anything that isnt a tomatoe, and even then, they hate other tomatoes after they have set up shop for a while.

Keep a close eye man, but I think the percie will be dead soon.

I've heard of a Tomato/Perc (forgot if it was true or false) hybrid, but I'd put my odds at it not working out.

I had a Percula & a tomato (pair) in my 135 and even though the "lair" was a good 5 feet away (other side of the tank) if that tomato saw the percula he went right after it.

Maybe if you put them in together at the same time it might have worked, i am with the others, it will keep on beating the other clown. I vote to take the tomato out, you can do a lot ore with the perc. they are a little more mild :wink:

They'll never be "friends" and the best case scenario is the Tomato will just beneignly harass the percula for life. By beneignly, I mean no bodily harm. But a fish that is constantly under stress .... well, you know where I'm heading.

Tomatoes and Maroons tend to be agreesive towards everything, especially a rival in their biotype. No way it's gonna work pardner, sorry. :lol:
