very nice setup but i would have figured out a better way to view it from inside the house. you can't really tell from the front of the tank of how big it is.

It is very difficult to photograph....but, the depth is immediately evident when viewed in person. As much as I would have liked, it just wasn't possible to have multiple viewing sides.....I guess you can't have everything.

wow! i'd definitely like to see more pics of anything you can throw our way. i seriously blew 3 hours easy on your site! a few questions that i was going to email you but would really love to have them answered here if you have the time. . .

- what do you use for kalkwasser, calcium reactor media, and phosphate remover?
- where did you get the tank fabricated?
- what kind of overflow/return are you using?
- is your garage heated? i'm assuming you are in the state of oregon? not very familiar with your climate but i'm assuming you have rather cold winters?

thanks for any info you can pass on! truly amazing!

what do you use for kalkwasser, calcium reactor media, and phosphate remover?

kalkwasser..........CaO from Warner Marine

Ca reactor media............since I have a fluidized reactor, I need a special media that has a fine grain and doesn't turn to mush. Deltec has a media for this that costs about $5 per pound. However, I recently found a similar product at a quarry in Seattle that is slightly more pure than Deltec's....but is 13 cents a pound. So far, I'm getting a dkh of 60 out of my reactor....which is similar to what I was getting using Deltec's media.

Phosphate remover.......I now have burned my coral tips twice from over dosing Rowaphos and that's enough for me. I'm now only running carbon in my reactor.

where did you get the tank fabricated?

from the best fabricator in the country.

what kind of overflow/return are you using?

I have two overflows with a 2" standpipe in each. There are two returns pumped by two sequence 22 pumps (4300 gph each)

is your garage heated? i'm assuming you are in the state of oregon? not very familiar with your climate but i'm assuming you have rather cold winters?

my garage is not heated....but the heaters will only kick on when outside temps fall below 20 F......which doesn't happen often here. Most of our winter nights are in the 30's where my tank is still chiller driven.
