i recieved a response today.
the bulbs were described as a "mix brand from China".
i was told they are not a mix of bulbs... as in all bulbs recieved would be the same make.

bought a couple 175w at a claimed 14k for 30 bucks total cost including shipping.
i just started them up and they seem okay.
i have never run this much blue out of this ballast before so it seems dark... i have always run 10k germans in the past with actinics.


i have just gotten my tank back together in the last couple weeks and am still in the middle of the reassembly. i have no corals so it is hard to tell if i like the light or not. right now all i have is rock and water. and it will be some time before i have anything with zooxanth to validate the ability of these bulbs.

but i will throw a pic up soon when i find the darn camera. maybe i will try to show the tank with some old ushios for comparison in visual appearance... for whatever that might be worth.

this is an SPS i found still on my old live rock that had nothing on it but sunlight for some time...

it is starting to revert back to it's green coloration... if that says anything for the bulbs.

I guess lots of time have gone by to judge these bulbs. I tried the250 watt MH 10000k ;i did not like them too yellow. I got 20000k and i like those. I am wondering how long do they last before spectrum shift .
Anyone out there used them for a while and can tell their experience.
