I was just curious, how many LFS's sell RO water?
Also, if you do:

Is it by vending machine, where the customer deposits money and the machine automatically dispenses the water into the customers own containers?

or do you dispense it from a manual filtration unit into a large holding container and then manually dispense the RO'ed water into the customer's containers?

Plus, How much do you charge?

Thanks,
Bob

The second one, and $0.45 / gallon.

It's the same water we use for our own tanks - 4 prefilters, 3 parallel RO membranes, and a DI. Resevior totals about 160 gallons.

all 3 lfs around me sell it, you bring a 5 gallon container and they fill it up, you can even buy ready made salt water as well, I won't buy it though, they keep the salinity way too low for my taste....

Thanks for the correction Matt,
I meant to type Salem but got confused because I've been trying to make time to stop by your store. I didn't mean to give incorrect info and am glad that you corrected me

Culligan Water Store sells it for like $.35 a gallon but you have to have your own container. I know they have many stores in Mass.

The LFS I used to work for has a 150 gallon vat attached to an RO unit...it's free and self-serve.

Other local LFS sell salted water, dunno how much I've never used it, BUT I've seen lots of peoples' problems with salinity out of whack, PH too low, etc., from just adding premade LFS saltwater without monitoring PH, specific gravity etc.

The ones that really ticked me were the ones who switched from other stores' saltwater to our FREE water, and they didn't stop to think that we don't add salt (it says RO water on the vat...nothing about salt or no salt) and they've killed their stuff doing water changes and NOT putting salt mix. One guy couldn't figure out why all his livestock died....tested his water, SG was below 1.010 which is the lowest our hydrometer reads...

He was told by the other store that he'd never ever have to add salt to his tank. Guess they forgot the disclaimer..."IF you always buy our water..."

No problem, I just wasn't sure if you were talking about them or us.
