You don't need a plumber. It's very easy to do. Shoot some pix, post them here and I'll help walk you through it. Save your money for something worthwhile.

I'll ask lots more Q's and we'll get you hooked up.

my camera is just broke last week. not sure where the hoses get attached to. there so many connections on top, i think i am suppose to leave those along. along the front I have two connections, one on left side and one on
right side. i'm kinda spastic when putting things together. i am very talented in breaking things but. LOL

it a tyhoon III extreme unit. it's a 5 stage unit with 4 cartridges.
they gave me two hoses about 15 feet each (ordered extra). they gave me two T with a on/off valve. a 90 degree fitting and a 180 degree fitting.
not sure if I should place the unit by the sink, by the fish tanks or somewhere in the middle. the fish tanks are about 15 feet from the sink.

You should ideally keep the RO/DI storage tub (I use a 50g Brute) where it's most convenient. As you know the tubing is only 1/4", so it's easy to run to a remote location.

What piece or pieces do you have to connect it to a cold water source? Saddle valve, faucet adapter, hose bib connector? This will help on how to provide your system with the water you're looking to cleanse.

hose bib connector

I'll make the assumption that you've got a hose bib to connect it to. If not, you'll need to purchase one of the other two connections I mentioned.

I went to airwaterice.com to see the enlarged photo of the Typhoon lll Extreme. They seem to have their first stage on the right. Please go to this site and verify that your RO/DI looks like the one in the picture (you can enlarge the pic).

Let me know if that is the same as yours. Before I continue with directions for hookup, I want to make sure I'm looking at the correct system.

russ, that is the same picture of my unit. looking from the front I think the water supply
in connection is just right of the first stage. then all the way on the left is a connection that i am not sure where it gets connected to. on top I have a 180 fitting that has two wires coming out of it that go to a meter (little meter pictured mounted on top of stage one filter on that same photo). and then there is two outlets on top, one labeled
waste water, and one labeled r/o water.. my confusion is the front left connection and
the 180 degree connector (over stage 4). I assume I just connect a hose to the
r/o water connection and this i the tub that goes to me holding tank, and I connect a tube from the waste connection to the sink for my waste water. it's the top left part
of this unit i am confused about.

Dan, absolutely correct about the tap (source) water connecting to the right hand canister. The canisters should all be connected via small pieces of tubing run between them. When the water exits the leftmost canister (which from the picture looks like DI resin, but from the diagram on this page (middle picture enlarged) it seems to be the RO membrane) it goes to the horizontal canister on top with I believe is the DI resin.

The middle picture in the link provided when blown up tells the story of the connections. Study that pic.

The water coming from the left canister can be used for drinking, ice making, etc. It is RO water (DI water should not be consumed). There appears to be a splitter on the tubing coming from the left canister (there also seems to be a blue ball valve on it). This split allows you to open the ball valve and get drinking water (another tube connected to a holding tank can be put there). The other side of that splitter should go into the horizontal canister. This is the DI resin. When it exits the DI canister the tube seems to have an inline TDS meter connection so that you can get a reading on your Total Dissolved Solids. When water exits this last canister you should get a reading of zero TDS. When that increases to 2 or 3 TDS then you'll want to change your filters and DI resin.

I know this can be confusing, but the middle picture on the link is extremely helpful.

LMK if you still need help.

russ, i think i got it figured out. i was totally confused by the attachment on the top f the unit but i don't think i connect anything to that at all. they had blue plastic plugs inside so i think i was suppose to leave them alone. i am getting the water out from the pure product connection. before i was trying to get the water out of the r.o. connection, which is wrong. i think i made it more confusing than it was. thanks so much for your patience and assistance. much obliged.

danny.....

p.s. - thanks dennis also for offering.
