Rich,
No offense - but if you have injuries and you need a good running shoe, and you won't make it out to a running store, you're asking for a shitload of trouble.
Having run 4 yrs of HS track and field, 2 yrs of college, coached 2 yrs of HS and 2 spring seasons on special events (Hurdles, High Jump, Shot, Long and triple jumps), I say with authority that you need to get a good shoe from a running store, not some fad-buy chain outlet selling glam and what-they-think-is-right. Most of the sales people in those stores can't even speak to what runners need or go through.
I have coached a few elite athletes coming back from Achilles as well as ACL and other knee related injuries. Rick is somewhat right in that you need to find a shoe that fits you well.
BUT, most off the shelf shoes suck ass and will likely only last you 3 months if you run 4-5 times a week. Most people don't understand that (my wife being one of them) Problem is, the shoe may look brand new out of the box, but it's long past it's life and value for what you need (decrease shock due to
pronation).
Not to mention, you're not a small guy (under 160lbs) which is the point that mosy shoe manufacturers point thier designs to. if you're 180 or over, you need to look at New Balance or Saucony. Asics is a great shoe (my preferred racing shoe, both cross contry and track), but they don't last. they are build light - light means it don't last as the pounding takes it's toll.
Mark my words - in 2-3 months you're going to be wondering why your knee is starting to twinge. Get a good shoe - well worth the time invested in getting it.
