Have a 2 x 5 inches of yellow finger sponge growing in my tank, which I can cut for you here in Forest hills, 11375, no way it'll make the mail to you in this heat, after which you might as well go with the frozen food. I recommend the post regarding clams. Get a few of many types to see what he goes for. mussels, clams, the little ones, the big ones... If you're by a marina out there, go pull up a bucket full of inverts growing on the sides of the docks, There are plenty of orange/yellow sponges encrusted onto the mussels, along with plenty of tunicates, copepods. You need a dock that is always floating in the water, not the fixed non-moving docks. I usually go to Point Look out, or Oak Island, drive in, grab a bucket full, drive out within 5 minutes.

Try to get a fresh sponge of any rock jetties on one of the beaches. I live in Brooklyn next to Coney Island and at the low tide I use to collect orange sponge think it called "elephant ear" and feed it to my Moorish Idol this is how I got him to eat. Idol was happy as long as I supplied sponge, unfortunately when winter came I stopped swimming in the ocean and eventually Moorish Idol perished. I had him only for 9 month, still hope when you get your Regal Angel to eat it will accept other food as well and will last for much longer. By the way I am interested to get a Regal Angel as well and hope we will exchange good husbandry notes in the future. Good luck!

get your local LFS to order you some sponges. If they special order it for you for your angelfish, maybe they can give you a special price. Sponges are always available but most smart shops won't order them cuz they usually don't do well. But they are on every list I see so, try asking.

also some frozen angel foods have sponges.
