Tonga Branch Rock is basically long dead pieces of staghorn type acropora usually about 1-2" in diameter. It is excellent for use in creating an open structure but I would never use it just by itself.

Take a 75 gallon aquarium. I'd probably use about 20 pounds of Tonga and about 50-60 pounds of Fiji. The tonga provides the ability to make a nice open rock structure.

wow these pieces i saw had to be some huge acropora then, because they were thicker than my arm, lol and my arm is ALOT bigger than 1-2 inches width. i dont think that these could have been acropora, the colony would have been about 20ft. tall to have branches this thick. they looked like tree branches the Tongan branches were as thick if not thicker than a softball.
