:( Dom challenged me to find some for $20.00 but the cheapest I could find was $35. I certainly didn't see any for $5-$7.

I brought my camera but it was pretty crowded and I didn't want to be that a$$#*&% blocking the tanks for other people. The panther chameleons were BEAUTIFUL though. But I liked the little green madagascar geckos and the tiny chameleons better.

Lissa the Giant Panthers from Screameleons are amazing. Pigmy and dwarf Chameleons usually stress out easily and can have a short life expectancy. I was able to get the PDF's very cheap last time because I was buying for my friends store in bulk. I also got 10 Leopard Geckos for 5 bux each because I was buying in bulk. Were there any normal Bearded dragons or russian tortoises? Notice any prices on those?

Sorry for asking again Franks Gecko's and Kirks herps? Anyone stop in to see them?

Yes, there were definitely bearded dragons. I'm not sure on the russian tortoises, though there were a couple of vendors with HUGE tortoises.

We checked out all of the vendors, so I'm sure we saw them. I have no recollection of who was who. Some really nice people though!

There was definitely Russian Tortoises and normal bearded dragons. I didn't check prices on the tortoises. I checked on the bearded dragons but can't remember exactly what they were since I had no intentions of buying them. They were real cheap though.

We stopped at every vendor as Lissa mentioned already. Everyone was super nice. Even a little girl who was helping me deal with my "walk to the car in the cold" paranoia :)

I was wondering if you were going to find a way to scheme into going to the show :lol2:

Unfortunately no. I just got back from Silver Spring - we left at 12:30. Traffic was beeyatch! Hopefully Januray show. I am eyeing that carpet python for sale here though. I've wanted one for quite some time.

Chief - A guy on CL ( yes I'm a junkie ) was trying to sell a male/female pair of Russian tortoise's for $100. Great deal if they are healthy ( and you do see them before you buy them but you have to make the trip ). I had one but it died, probably from internal parasites ( thats what a fecal on my other tortoises turned up anyways ). I have Madagarscan Day Geckos ( Lissa thats your talking about ) and they're cool, low maintanence and easy setup requirements. I bought them from a show about five years ago. I've only been seeing one lately though but the tank is planted heavily.

Dom - We could always go into business together ( they coudl use a good zoo on the island ! )

I like any reptiles/amphibians with either sticky pads on their fingers, eyes that can move independently of one another or prehensile tails. Most awesome adaptations ever! :)

They also had hissing cockroaches and taratulas there. And that is where I draw my love-of-animals line. :)

TThey should have had a large range of insects. Dubai roaches are great to feed to reptiles. Meal worms and wax worms are also good to feed too.

I raise Hissing roaches and Dubas as feeders ( the hissers more for their coolness ) and have a couple of tarantulas I've adopted. Stick insects are cool - most are parthogenic - but you have to be careful with them as many are agricultural pests and are USDA restricted. Even those that aren't need to be kept with caution. You cannot just throw out the crap from their cage into the trash as eggs are often mixed in with it. You have to submerse it in bleach or boil or burn it. They do make great feeders though.

Were there a decent selection of veiled chameleons - not the usual green, but the nicer color variants? How much were the panthers? I've always wanted to do a rep display, but the cost was a bit much - need the $ for corals :)

It seemed like they had a nice selection on veiled chameleons. I am not that familiar with them so I wouldn't know for sure. The Panthers had no prices on them and I didn't ask. Maybe someone else did?

Panthers usually start close to $300, though sometimes you can find a young one ( especially if its a hybrid ) for close to $200. Anything less than that and you have to be suspicious. You dont want to get them, or any chameleons, too young ( 3 months is the recommended minimum ) unless you have experience because they tend to very delicate and have a high mortality rate. Panther's are beautiful ( check out Screameleon ) and I'd love to get one eventually.

Screameleon was the Panthers we saw on display. Unbelieveable colors.
