IMO...Not likely to happen ... If floor joists were to 'fail', tank would probably crack and dump water, before falling thru floor

Also you would notice the floor sagging when walking by way before something like that would ever come close to happening. Plus it's not like the floor would just completely fall out like that.

Stop watching the money pit!!! Lol

My brother-in-law had a 125 for 10 years and it made the floor sag a little more than a foot. To the point that you could see and feel cracked beams all across the apartment but it never fell through. I think 2 more years and the tank would've ended up in the store below. So pretty much like everyone else said, it's a hard thing to do.

If your worried about it make sure the tank goes across the beams not parallel
And if that don't make you feel at ease support the floor underneath with 4 x 4s
I have never heard of a tank falling through a floor in all my life
Also make sure your homeowners insurance policy is up to date lol

Though I would like to see that sagging tank he was talking about
