Ordered a GenX/Mak4, as seen on their website last Thursday, in order do setup a closed loop on my 120. The pump arrived today (drop shipped from Champion), and was not the pump I ordered. I immediately called AquaDirect to voice my concerns.
The salesman who I spoke with told me "Mak4 pumps come with 6 different labels", what I had was a Mak4, and that the website states "make and model may vary". Nowhere on that site do I see what he claimed. I also mentioned the website shows "output 55w" and the pump which was shipped clearly stated 70w on the label. At this point the salesman got rude and said "our site does not claim any wattage". Now I was angry, as I was looking at the website and plain as the nose on my face, it does indeed say 55w output!
Trying to remain calm on the phone (but boiling mad inside), I told him in no uncertain terms that they had pulled a bait and switch. This is not the pump I ordered, which was pictured on the web site. I wanted the Mak4 and would accept no substitutes. He then says to me, "well I could ship you a label, or we could take the pump back".
Needless to say the pump is going back, and I will NEVER order from nor recommend them. Buyer Beware!
P.S. Since speaking with that salesman, they have removed the "Output: 55w" from the web page.
