Aquapod Canopy Removal

We have a 24G Aquapod that came with the standard canopy. I want to remove the canopy, since I just bought a 150HQI fixture. I read somehere to cut the hindges off. Just wondering if anyone had removed a canopy off there Aquapod. Here is some pictures I just took of the hindges.

It looks like there is clip on the bottom of the hinge try pulling that out and then lifting straight up.

The part I am talking about is right over the word OF in your pic.

I think it can come apart w/o cutting the hinges.

I had the same set-up and removed the canopy when I upgraded to mh. The hinges snap right off.....

If you open the hood up you should be able to pull, with a little force, the hood out of the hinges. If not the hinges slide out.
