Hey Guys,
AdvancedAquarist just published an article I wrote on West Atlantic Faviid Corals corals. The paper covers some interesting scribbled brain species and the acan-lord like Montastrea cavernosa. Hope you like it and let me know if you have any further questions.

Great article!

Attracted me because this AM I was looking at my tank in darkness when I saw what appeared like thick slime on my Jamba Juice Favia. Turned on the lights & the 1 & 1/2 polyp frag, the size of a dime had tentacles extended 4 X it's size!! :bigeyes2:

Looked like a clear frogspawn was growing out of my frag! I didn't know favias do that.

Great article Jake.

We gots to get down there sometime.

When you getting a new phone?

Hey Joe,
That is the article I was finishing up when i was at your place, glad you like it. I got my phone fixed a couple days ago after I got back to Denver. Are you gonna be coming out for REEFSTOCK or what?

The final article will cover the sweet atlantic mussids including the scolymias, isophyllia and mycetophyllia, among other non-mussid LPS.

They are all absolutely, strictly forbidden for collection for the trade. Even scientists need elaborate permitting to collect for research.

Like he said. The exception is the Manicinas in the third image I posted which frequently come in on aquacultured florida live rock.

There are some overlapping species in the Atlantic off of Africa, and some permits should come available eventually. There is Cavernosa, Madracis, Schizoculina, Favia, etc. there :shocked1:
