I'm picking up an encrusting monti tonight and would like to put it on my overflow. It is on a small rock. The overflow is you basic acrylic black box. Anyone have a good method I could use?

If its on a fairly small rock you could probably use superglue.
I put a big blob on the overflow first and let it dry for a few minutes, then put a smaller blob of glue on the rock and stick it into the big blob on the overflow. Hold it there for as long as you possibly can, while trying to avoid gluing your fingers to the overflow or getting glue on the frag.

If the rock is too big, you could glue the frag to a magnet and try to put another magnet in the overflow, but that is pretty tricky if you have one of those AGA overflows with the double wall.

If you are going to glue the rock on, I suggest roughing up the box with some sandpaper first. This will give the glue a better place to attach.

what I've done in the past is glue a piece of acrylic to the back to make a ledge then glue the piece to the ledge.

Well it's on there. I used a big glob of glue and put it on some coraline. Looks like it will hold.
