Hello again fellow MR peoples!
Another tank moving day is approaching!
Before I setup my new tank Im wondering if anyone has experience installing an automated topoff system?

my current setup...
rodi gets manually attached to sink once a week when my, Tunze Osmolator 3155, runs dry and makes a terrible racket. I fill a large bucket with fresh water (carry it across the living room, get the floor wet, anger the girlfriend) and then drop the pump back in.

my ideal setup...
in the new apartment the tank will be close to the kitchen, can I install a saddle valve with some sort of automated solenoid to refill the tank directly? Can I take the Osmolator out of the equation? I find it more trouble than its worth...

(btw... I will have an unused, for sale cheap, 72bow/30sump+stand very soon..)

Thanks for any advice.

I was using a saddle valve with my RO/DI, but it kept leaking. I finally just went directly into the water line, no more leaks, and even better flow. I make water much faster now. I went to HD, and bought a couple of fitting, a piece of the grey water supply tubing went home, and put it all together. Wasn't all that hard.

I use some items I got from autotopoff.com. If you know how, making them would be simple.

I have a double float switch in the sump that tracks the evaporation level.
The float switch is connected to two solenoid valves which open in tandem. the line they are connected to goes right to the DI filter hooked into my RO system. I did this to avoid having to use and refill a reservoir tank. I check the connections and clean the float switch in vinegar on a periodic basis.
