Automatic feeder as a substitute doser

Using powder Alk and Cal plus automatic feeder, will this work if I put this in the sump where there is a lot of water movement as a substitute doser?

Good idea! Just make sure not to dose calcium and alkalinity in the same location at the same time (prevents precipitation)

Can I use one automatic feeder but alternate dosing. Alk in the morning and Cal at nite.

Have you already determined the proper dosages for each? I don't recommend dosing anything that you don't test for or monitor.

I haven't done it yet, it's just an idea in my head. Just wondering if other people have done it or though about it too. Thanks Deanos.
Just thinking of other ways to dose automatically without breaking the bank. I know Cal reactor is expensive.

Are you refering to baking soda and dow flake for the powders? Not sure how well this would mix in the sump. Also you would need to figure out how much alk/cal is being added with each dosage. I think you would need pretty high flow for it to mix properly.
