Kasha which size did you get? Do you know the air draw numbers?

I took a quick look at that thread and this is probably the most disgusting skimmate pic I have ever seen

yeh thats a sick picture. i am using the 200 model with the new Tunze pumps (read up on reefcentral as to the change) on my 90G SPS tank. All you guys have to do is read through the thread, although I would start with the end of it since they changed the pump).

i dont know the air draw numbers sorry.

i will say that the skimmer is dead silent (my vortechs are louder) and it has no start up issues with thenew tunze pump.

This is the email I got from the maker last year when I bought it:

Hiram,

Thanks for the interest. Between local and Internet sales, the response to the "I-Tech skimmer club" on RC, http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1536745 , has been very overwhelming. The demand for these products has caught me off guard. I'm a LFS owner and my original intent was to offer an affordable quality skimmer line to just the local area.

Skimmers are built in America from rugged PVC sheet and acrylic tube materials. All chemical and physical heat welds are professionally done. Titanium screws allow for the units to be completely disassembled. Bubble plate diffusers and air suction mufflers are incorporated. All PVC fittings are made in America by Spears.

I hate sizing skimmers based upon gallons. Handling capacity is more about bioload than water volume. Since I?m a nutrient export freak my recommendations are a little conservative. The model number is the largest tank in gallons that I would recommend the skimmer for. I always suggest going with the largest skimmer that fits both your space and budget. I will also add that many have said that my skimmers are underrated for their performance ability. Here is someone using a prototype to the model 100 powered by a AquaBee 2000/1, http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2009-01/totm/index.php. Even though not as powerful as today's Tunze 9410.04 driven model 100, Emmet's experience and skill allows him to get away with using an less than ideal sized skimmer.

The current stats can be found bellow.

Model 100 Cone Skimmer

Cone Base: 6?
Cone Neck: 2 ??
Overall Height: 21 ??
Footprint without pump: 8 ?? x 6 ??

Tunze 9410.04 Hydrofoamer

? Skimmer and pump footprint: 11? x 9?

? Airdraw: ~400 lph @ 12 watts in 6 ?? water depth.

Tunze 9410.04 MSRP $152.17

Nearly silent, no suction noise when attached to included muffler. Alteration on the stock venutri device is required but full Tunze support is still offered by Tunze.

Model 200 Cone Skimmer

Cone Base: 8?
Cone Neck: 3 ??
Overall Height: 23?
Footprint without pump: 11 ?? x 8 ??
Recommended Pump: Tunze 9420.04
Inlet: ?? thread PVC pipe
Recommended water level: 6? to 7?
Body Price: $400

Recommended pump

Tunze 9420.04 Hydrofoamer

? Needle-wheel impeller

? Skimmer and pump footprint: 13? x 11?

Tunze 9420.04 MSRP $187.83

It pushes the maximum amount of air and water the body can handle. Very fine adjustment is recommended and a stable water level is a must. Nearly silent no suction noise when attached to included muffler. No alteration of the pump is needed

My site, www.i-techskimmers.com is up a running. It is a community based forum for the exchange of information on all things i-Tech.

At this time, models 100 and 200 are in stock and ready to ship. If you?d like to purchase please provide desired item, shipping address, and contact phone number. Either my wife or I will call you requesting payment information. PayPal service is also available.
