Back spots under the sandbed

Hi guys,
I upgraded my tank to 75g RR.
I had to transfer my sand & rocks and all to the new tank.
Looking under the tank few days after I noticed these black spots and it's growing everyday. nitrate has been increasing because of detritus and sand transfer.

Question, is it better to just take out the sand bed or try siphon it out
the back matter?
I'm thinking it's just dead spots since the sand got stirred up from the transfer or ditritus? HELP!! :tired::knockedou

That may be entirely normal...I've never looked under at the bottom of my tank :scratch:

If it'll give you peace of mind and you have access to the spots, use a turkey baster to suck it up and slowly re-distribute the sand. It's amazing the life that lives in our sand beds.

bacteria colonies - totally normal - DO NOT DISTURB!

Also, quick note - please tell me that drain line is secured some other way other that dry fit? With heat and cold (expansion and contraction) that drain hose could loosen and leave that spot - At the very least gaffers tape that bad boy!
