My LFS has a beautiful pair of Bangi Cardnials thai I'm considering.

I really would like to try breeding them but don't know if I need to get a so called "Mated Pair".

If I just buy the pair, what are the chances they will mate?

Any ideas?

Thanks
Bruce

If the two you see at the LFS are pleasant to each other in the same tank (and they are the only two banggais in that tank) then chances are good that they are either two females or a male and female.

Do they swim near each other? Doubtful that 2 males would be swimming together if they are wild caught in a small LFS tank.

Just because you get a male and a female, it doesn't mean they are going to mate.

Here are a bunch of Banggai Links that you may find interesting

Thanks for the info Atlantis

The Banggais are in a 125gal coral tank in the LFS.
Yes, they are swimming around with each other, in fact they seem to stay together in one side of the tank.
Are are eating frozen brine and they look great (the price is reasonable too at $11ea)

Anyway, thanks again
Bruce
