Does any one have a Batfish? I've had this one for three months now. He eats like a beast but every morning he wakes (11:00am) up with ich and by 5:00pm its gone...:knockedou

ich can appear on a fish and then later can seem to vanish.if im not mistaking and through some reading i believe that it has a cycle where the white spots(that you see on the fish) is feeding, and what happens is that they fall off the fish and start a new cycle breeding more of the parasite.if it is ich that the fish has.but if i am wrong someone feel free to correct me.

Ich doesn't come & go & then reappear the following day...more than likely wherever the fish is sleeping crud (detritus, food particles...) is falling onto the fish and just gets stuck and that crud is falling off during the course of the day.

Not sure what size tank you have there Bob, but do you have any idea just how big batfish get? BIG!

Kathy, I can make ich come and go in my FOWLR. All I have to do is lower the temperature by 7 degrees overnight, all the tangs will be covered in ich.

BTW, I think its in a 180 with 15+ large angel and tangs:(..

...You may be able to make it come overnight...but how fast can you get rid of it?? :D
Thx for the info Pierce...if that's a Pinnate - Bob's still looking at 17 inches on that fish as an adult...

i had ich before due to a sick coral beauty.and when the lights would go on in the morning it would be covered in white spots but later in the day there would be little to none? but the process would start over the next day until the fish died.so tell me why ich does not come and go?????
