Not sure if this is the proper area to post this, but just want to voice my buyer's experience from a online company named Aquatic Hobby AquariumSupply. I purchased a Current USA Power Skimmer from them. It did not fit my tank ( Eurobrace 2 inch tank rim ) so I contacted their customer service dept. They charged 20% restocking fee, then when they realized that I try the skimmer, they won't take it back. On top of that the customer service rep got rude on me. Wow, I couldn't believe it!!! They have no customer service skills. Just to warn any buyers who came across this company online, check the return policy before you buy. I will NEVER buy from them, no matter how cheap are their pricing.

Most places won't take items back that have touched water. Restocking fee's are common as well in many industries. Always read the return policy before you buy.

Let me see, because you did not do your homework and the skimmer did not fit your tank, my guess is that you wanted the company not charge you a restocking fee and in addition to that you used the skimmer. I see nothing wrong with the company charging a 20% restocking fee if it was unused and definitely not taking it back if there is nothing wrong with it...

I did my research. Called up Current USA to verify that the inlet/outlet tubes can hang over the EuroBrace. They said it does. When I got it, the outlet hangs perfect. The inlet has a bracket that prevents it from hanging over the rim, but the water pump can go into the tank. The skimmer does hang, but at about 45 degree angle. This is unstable and eventually the weight of the pump would pull the skimmer to one side and it can flip. Not kidding.

You can't blame the company you bought it from (AHAS) if you contacted another company (Current USA) to get the info on it.

In AHAS's defense, what are they supposed to do with a used skimmer? I know I would be really pissed if I bought a brand new skimmer only to open the box and see it was used.

Do you still have the skimmer? If so, why not post some pics and maybe someone can help you mod it to fit.

You didn't read my posting. Their Customer service was rude. Without getting into the he said she said. I can accept the fact that they have a return policy, but when their customer service rep was rude, that is the last call. Its one thing that the seller right if the buyer didn't read their return policy, its another if they don't have ANY customer service skills. I would not want to give business to a company that doesn't take any care in handling their customers.

Just to let everyone know that the customer service at at Aquatic Hobby Aquarium Supply is terrible and to be careful shopping with them.

Thank you for the info :) You should contact them and tell the supervisor how you felt being treated badly by the rep. Maybe they will learn how to treat customers in the future.
