Black Lumenarcs vs Silver Lumenarcs

Woo-Hoo! Second thread in a long time!

Anyone have experience with the black vented lumenarcs? They're only 10 bucks extra over the lumenarc III (silver) so I figured that was for the fan. Anyone recommend the black ones over the silver ones?

The silver ones are the very first ones and the black are the very last. I would be purchasing the mogul version, if that makes a difference.

Edited: Forgot that the silver ones are called Lumenarc III.

Yeah the black ones add about 4x the weight, the vets don't do anything really. There's no fan in them. It's literally just a black casing that fits around a lumenarc mini. Oh yeah did I mention it weighs a bunch? Well that weight isn't evenly distributed around those holes the hooks/bolts crank into, so you'll have to find a way to support it from a 3rd point

I won one of these at the local club. The designer of it was giving a tank, donated it, he said the reason he came up with it was because reefers said they prefer the black look.. *shrug*

Well, the black won't make a difference inside a canopy or over a prop tank. So, that's not appealing to me.
