anyone had kept these guys for more than 6 months? what did you use to cover your tank.

yes, thanks kathy ..it'll be a little challenge with all the corners and my overflow box but i have all next week but with the new baby, don't know how much time i still would have . i wanted to try one more than

I just got a blue spot jaw fish I hope he doesn't jump out of a 75 gallon reef tank I bought it for 75$ n a blue throughout trigger for 18$ med size, the blue spot is hiding in the back I c him on occasion it's only been 3 days

it's gonna jump, just sure it fully covered well

+1 on fully covered just bout one and I had for 2days before I found him on floor. I even had a canopy. Good luck

yah.. trust me, make sure its fully covered. I just lost my jawfish this summer

I have a rimless tank and I keep the rim clean ( no overflows or return line over the rim of the tank, drilled holes) for the classy rimless look. I made a mesh frame to cover it nicely.

This summer i had to install a fan on top of the tank to keep the temperature cool. The fan clips on to the tank, so the mesh doesn't fully cover the tank. There was only a 3/4" gap between the mesh and rim. So guess what happens after 2 weeks... the jawfish managed to jump out thru the gap and dry up. i found it all crusty and anchovy like.

Yah.. so make sure your tank is covered

I have pearly and tiger jawfishes which are jump-proof with the mesh cover , but the blue-spotted jawfishes always seems to find a way out. I lost a couple and have not the heart to try them again. They are still my favorite fish though. Good Luck , you're going to need it!!
