BOXER CRABS, anyone have info or experience with?

Does anyone have any first-hand information or experience with keeping Boxer Crabs? These are the little guys that carry tiny anemones in their claws (sometimes referred to as Pom Pom Crabs).

Yes, I had one. They are peaceful but may disappear in your tank for long stretches at a time. Unless you are one of those people who enjoy staring at their tank in a stressful manner searching for your new addition, I would avoid. (but I did like mine, until my green brittle star a/k/a "the reaper" came for him)

I wanted a few at a certain point in time, but they're quite small....... agreed with thepudge, you may not see them most of the time...

hmmm. i don't mind if he disappears. and i do sit and stare at the tank for long periods of time, in a non frantic way though. and there is nothing in it right now. lol. :0)

I had one as well... only got to see him @ night with the moon lights on, or when it was feeding time. Excellent scavenger! Any leftover food belonged to the cheerleader. Very active at night, waving the anemones with every step.

Oh, and when it molts, the old shell holds onto the anemones... I've had the chance to see it first hand. Thought I had 2 crabs until I realized that the the one with the anemones was just the skeleton and the Boxer crab was trying to grab them from his old self.
