Look at the caption of the picture you posted

Branched Coralline algae washed ashore on the beach of the county park refuge at Moss Beach, California.

It's a colder water species, I've seen it before.

Yea I know its cold water, thats why I said it would be cool for a species tank. :wink: I was just curious if anyone was keeping it.

I have had a branching coralline grow in my tanks in the past. I will see if can find any of now. I don't think I have it anymore, but I will look for you.

I think I see then on the beach too. At first, I thought they are just coraline encrusted Halimedia relatives.

Apparently its a pretty fast grower but the limiting factor is cold water. We strive to keep our tanks tens of degrees higher than these like.
