I purchased a 4 stage RO/DI (75 gpd) from BRS about a year ago. Filter is great and couldn't be happier. I have only changed the sediment filter once so far (change when <50 psi).
I got their value system that has 1 sediment filter (5 micron), 1 carbon block (5 micron), RO membrane, and DI resin.
I try to change the sediment filter regularly because filters are cheaper and easier than replacing carbon block or RO.
My question is if i am able to change the 5micron sediment filter to a 1 micron. I assume this will affect the psi slightly but i am more concerned with the carbon block in the next stage.
will this help the carbon last longer/cleaner water or not be worth it?
(i am not having any problems with the unit, never have seen anything above 0 tds, i just like to tinker.)
