I have 2 bta one red one green I had the green one longer when I got the red on it would cover the green one and the green one got small and didnt come out much then I noticed that the red one was not opening as much any more I thought the foot was getting pinched that why it didint open much ( this happened to one I had along time ago moved a rock and back to normal in a day) so I moved some rocks around too check it no change the rbta body is there but the tenticals are verry small they look almost gone it looks like bta with no BT the green one looks the same but there was a reason it was covered for a long time my clowns just hang out on it, the bta's are eatting

has anyone seen this happen before is there a way to fix it are they going throught a natural cycle or about to split???

everything is doing great in my tank sps included!

thanks....

BTA's do some odd things, and yes, at times their tentacles get very small and skinny. My huge RBTA recently went behind a rock after being in one place for well over a year, and stayed there for about 2 weeks...and then he finally came back out.
Go figure.
As long as it is still willing to eat, and no other coral is possibly stinging it, I wouldn't worry too much.
