bulb flicker

bought an hqi 250w 20k bulb on ebay, the bulb seems to be more yellow then my 10k and flickers allot. is it just a crappy bulb or does it need to break in more. when it fires up it starts producing a nice blue look, and 2 mins latter gets realy yellow/white and flickers alot

crappy bulb... Was it a name brand bulb like Phoenix or XM? Or just a generic?

so are those the ONLY compatible bulbs...i know this bulb is crap, but that link only listed 5 or so compatible companys....or are those just bulbs from companys that dr foster and smith sell

so for thinking i was getting a good deal.................

first the bulb flickers...next i try to put in the old bulb....BREAKS




so fine i will put in the crapY BULB UNTIL I CAN AFFORD A NEW ONE..............

Which ends? The ceramic bits? If so,you can get new ones for super cheap. Buck up pal!

AIAIAIAIAIAIIAIA

THE CERAMIC ON THE BULB BROKE...FINE I FIGURED....but one of the ends that hold down the bulb,on the actual fixtue, the metal/copper or whatever peice is out of whack and im fiscally struggling ..... worst day of my reef career so far..im BUGGIN....if anyone has had this problem or know how to rectify it PLEASE pleASE!@#$@%#@$ HELP!

Easy!

Take a small flat head screw driver, slowly push it into the middle of the left copper tab and slightly turn it clockwise like you were screwing in a screw.

Then use the screwdriver to push it vertical.

The other little silver thing don't worry about, it just acts like a spring to keep the tabs on the bulb better.

Or, if you like, I will fix it if you want to throw me a frag!
