bulkhead: threaded or slip?

i need a bulkhead fitting, which one is better, the slip or threaded ones? i'm using a 90 degree elbow, ,also what kind of hose or pvc pipe should i use? i'm planning on installing an internal overflow, the ones that CustomKing makes. the bulkhead is 1 inch, on a 30g....

I only like threaded bulkheads now, you can use them again

I go with threaded, unless there's a certain plumbing piece I have to use that's only available in slip.
