I bought threaded for space reasons.
When I didnt need them, I took them apart and I can reuse them.
imo, i would much rather keep things slip and add unions to be able to take the system apart if needed. The only times i would use threads is where its required such as to connect loclines to a bulkhead, or if the pump is threaded, you can connected a threaded to slip union. If you needed to take it apart to the point where the union would also get in the way, then you could use a threaded bulkhead.
If you do use threaded, make sure to use teflon
Its listed as Sch. 80 Slip Union:, but I don't think the pic is accurate. (They also use the same pic for Sch. 40 Slip and threaded.. where both pics are showing slip)I have trouble finding slip x slip sch 80. Most I find are threaded on at least one side.
