Bumblebee Groupers

Hi, can any tell me more about this fish? I can't see to find much on the web for this. Is it true that they can be converted to freshwater? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Alex

I have seen one at fishtown many, many years ago. It was large and would certainly be a center piece on a dining table.

ah yes, i've seen that one also. i asked the owner a couple of months ago and he said they had to donate it to the aquarium. that thing was a monster!

You can keep small ones in fresh or brackish water but they grow very fast and get very large, 3'-8', and should really only be kept in an public aquarium.

I saw one this past weekend at Fishtown for $169, about 3". I didn't think these went for so much =)
