I have a tiny deresa the size of a penny with nice blue rim that I got several years ago. It grow to pretty decent size since. About two weeks ago, it fell down to the bottom of my tank. Since it is 30 inch deep, I used pair of chopsticks to get it out among the rock work. My wife said I poked it but I don't think I hurt it at all.
Anyway, it was alright for the first two days and then it closed up on the third day. It did not open for a week, and I knew it was not a good sign. Last night, I pick it up and there is nothing but the shell.
I was amazed at how fast it disintegated. Poor fellow.
