i was wondering if it were possible or has any one tried it to use the water yeast and sugar co2 for a calcium reactor. im not trying to be wise or be cheap it has just stormed in my head because i was looking at my planted tank and i have a diy co2 2 liter bottle. and i was looking at my ca reactor sitting on the table and was like what if but im not going to be cheap. it was a idea for people who cant really afford a who co2 valves and regulator and co2 tanks. just a thought.

not recommended because you need the PH steady at a certain range, otherwise you can either turn the media into mush, or not melt enough, and with the constant fluctuation, you will have to keep adjusting the effluent, and because you can't control the co2, you may over or underdose the effluent which defeats the purpose... easier to dose manually with 2 part if you can't afford the co2 bottle/regulator... which is probably as expensive then the reactor itself which you probably can't afford if you can't get the bottle/regulator
