Can someone explain to me what the big difference between these two are besides that one has two parts and the other has one. They generally carry out the same purpose right? or am I wrong? The reason I'm asking is because the two part one is twice as much as the one part but they're the same price...please let me know, thank you

The first I assume is for calcium and alkalinity, the second is just calcium. Don't really know personally since I just use pickling lime (kalk), and generic calcium chloride and baking soda.

befiore I set up a Ca reactor used the ESV 2 part additive
you'll get better results with 2 part your ALK will be stable
with little or no PH issues

ESV is avaiable through vendors that support MR and are local

hope that helps

if your calcium is way way off it is better to use the calcium only supplement but if your calcium and alkalinity are in balance, the 2 part will keep the levels there as you corals consume the elements. basically the 2 part keeps it all topped off nicely once its already dialed in.

2 parts is the way to go...

b-ionic... if you are going to use anything... don't like Kent... Plus, b-ionic is home grown in Brooklyn... Support your neighbors... House of Fish (914) 424-0366 has it for a great price, and if you drive up to him in Ossining, you don't pay shipping.

With a small order, it may cost you more in gas, but if you need salt and other items, worth the 20 min. trip...

Thanks Rudy for the props

I have tried using the "mix-it-yourself" solutions and have never had good success - on both occasions, I got cyanobacteria and on one occasion was adding up to 16oz, yes, I said oz to my tank per day. B-ionic is already stabilized and blended for optimum reef use - BTW, while ESV is homegrown in bklyn, they are also avid reefers.
