Once I add calcium to my 90 gallon reef/ 30 gallon fuge how long does it take to absorb into the water? When can I test it to get a accurate reading? My calcium dropped to 350 without me realizing and I want to get it back up asap! My tank is very heavily stocked with lps th only thing that seems to be hurting is my clam. Can I do more harm than good by raising the calc fast?
My alk is 9.3 and my mag is 1400 nitrates are 2-5
thanks

It should be readable on a test kit once the water has circulated fully through the system. Figure in 30 minutes you should get an accurate reading.

BUT

You should NOT try and raise your calcium level all at one time! ...or any other parameter for that matter...

Nothing good happens fast in a reef tank!

Take a look at this - it will tell you how much you need to get your level up and when/how to do it:

Why are you saying your clam is unhappy - what are you noticing?
