Can anyone give me the formula to calculate the volume of a tank from its dimensions?

I believe that:
Length x height x width (in inches)
divided by 231 = volumn in gallons

Are you sure about that calculation? The dimensions of the tanks being sold seem to match closer to a divisor of about 228.

Super Cow- standard tanks are sold by the outside dimensions of the glass. Interior measurements (and consequently volume) will vary depending on the thickness of the material used in constructing the tank. The conversion factor given here is correct- 231 cubic inches is equal to 1 US fluid gallon.
