Was browsing earlier for a light for my fuge. I know most people like to use the lights from homedepot for their fuge to grow macroalgea, but I was eyeballing some 50/50 PC lights for my fuge which we be approx 5 watts per gallon and was wondering if this would be a good spot to put frags while they heal or introduce new frags to my system (only softies and zoos). What do you all think?

i'm not to sure the lighting will work, but if u turn it into a place for ur corals, it wont be a refugium anymore :)

i've seena few ppl do it, hopefully u can ensure the corals get the proper lighting and food req.

show some pics of ur refugium right now

Craig, I don't see why it wouldn't work. The only potential issue I see is the light cycle. I keep my fuge lit 24/7. Some corals (mostly LPS) feed at night from the water column. With a fuge lit 24/7 I believe these types of corals could potentially starve (however, most are also photosynthetic). But like I said, if they feed at night or do need 'down time' from light, then it could be an issue.

If you light your fuge opposite the display lighting, like many do, then I think it would work fine.
