no its not. Buy a 200 gal box of salt mix. (50.00 on line or a 25 gal box for 20.00 lfs)You will need ro/di water. I assume you do not have one. I buy my water too. its about .50 per gallon. Rubbermaid bin 20-30.00. Time invested priceless!

Yup, petland will have instant ocean and reef crystals all day for ya

I'd give the rocks a vinegar bath for 24 hours before anything.then soak them in rodi water to rid the rocks of vinegar then have them dry out a few days in the sun.I had rocks that where covered in aiptasia had them dry out for 3 weeks and they still came back.after that as far as tropic Marin salt it's very high in nitrates and phosphates I'd use instant ocean or reef crystals..I'm sure others here do things differently but this worked for me and now my rocks are super clean, live bacteria packed rocks.

You can use any salt... A skimmer is highly recommended... If you do not have a skimmer it will not cure effectively.. We cure over 2,000 pounds of rock a month at a minimum and I would never do it without a skimmer... A heater is not necessary.... just plenty of flow and a good skimmer. any further questions call 201-797-6650 and speak to joe....

As stated earlier a skimmer is not needed. And yes it will cure just as effectively without one. Can you use one? Sure, just not needed. You are gone be doing many water changes. I would follow this path considering you had some bad stuff on it.

Bleach/water mix for about a week.
Rinse well
Vinegar/water mix for about a week.
Rinse well
Then straight saltwater with powerhead and heater if you got one. Keep it in the dark and do WC's. Cooking complete.

To finish off the cure you can add an ammonia source later to get a cycle going.
