Can someone ID this Clove looking thing?

Hey everyone,

I have these clove looking things growing all over this piece of rock and I wanted to know if they were bad? They came on the side of the rock my lobo was on and have been spreading all over my rock and is staring to move on to my zoa frags so I want to know if it is ok or is it bad? Looks like a weed to me... If so how do I kill it? Thank you in advanced! My phone won't let me post again so give me one min and I will go on my computer and post it.

Too far to see details. Could be Colonial Hydroids. Google for a closeup pic and compare it to what you have.

I've had it but I never really spread but I've seen tanks absolutely covered. It can also pop up in different spots in the tank not just on that rock. I'd be careful, look how many threads are on google for ppl trying to kill them.

it can be annoying but no really bad. corals that sting do a good job of creating a barrier to stop its spread

Yea get some torches or frogspawns in there to control it.

Looks great tho.... I'll by the rock off of you.. Or give you a rock with coralline at the same weight. That's if you don't want to deal with it. It's growing very fast in ur tank..
