Hi everyone my new fans came in today for my new canopy. I got the Panaflo 120mm fans and MAN i didnt realize how big these freaking things were until i opened the box.
I originally planned on having a fan on each end of the canopy but now i think they may look kind of crappy with these huge windows in the side of my nice canopy.
My question is this, Since the back of the canopy will be somewhat open i am thinking about mounting the two fans on the top to pull the hot air up and out while fresh air comes in through the back. I imagine i can mount them to where there wont be much light escaping out of the top.
I am also thinking blasting the hot air straight up might work out nice as well since it's likely to stay up near the ceiling instead of blasting whomever happens to walk by the tank in the face with hot air.
I also will have a chiller on this tank so these fans will not be my primary cooling source.
I know the fans are likely to fail sooner w/ the humidity being pulled through them but it's not like they cost an arm and a leg.
Looking for some "validation" here
Sorry for the long post.
