can't get my ph up

Hello guys I'm having a problem in my reef tank in getting my Ph up above 8.15 in the tank during the day should i be worried and also how do i know if there is enough air getting in the tank

Do you have a skimmer? If so than your water is being aerated. What about dosing kalkwasser?

8.15 is great IMOP if it gets below 7.6 then maybe think about it.
Don't kill your self.
Open a window first and try that but not to worry at 8.15

cool thanks guys and yeah i have skimmer in the sump don't really wanna does kalk was just concerned about the ph levels

When my pH seems like it has slipped a bit, I recalibrate my pH probe. I try to schedule a recalibration every 1-2 weeks (that is probably too long of a period if you are controlling dosage on pH).

I also have noticed pH slippage can correspond to decreased alkalinity in my tank (a drop of 0.5-1.0 mg/L). I usually see a small pH increase, 0.05-0.1, when I raise it with sodium bicarbonate.

Poor gas exchange exchange with air and CO2 build up could bring pH down, but it is hard to image that being the case with skimming, powerheads and recirculating through a sump. In winter with potential CO2 build up indoors, even with good air exchange, low pH could be an issue.

i just recalibrated my probe a few days ago have to purchase more calibration solutions i might calibrate every month going forward Alk is pretty steady around 7.50-8.0 i dose using a dosing pump

I have my air intake hose ran 30 + feet away from the skimmer and not only did it raise my pH but works even better than the stale air from under the stand.I also use alkalin 8.3 from brightwell aquatics to maintain alkalinity and it stabilizes my ph

+2 on your Ph, a Lotta people do more harm then good trying to chase the "perfect" ph. If your staying fairly stable and livestock is good I wouldn't stress it.
