I really did not want to resort to this, but after 3 months of nonpayment and over a month of no correspondence, I feel obligated to warn people of Bill Tooney in Reno, NV. He bought a Black Tang from me in October '06, and I accommodated a payment schedule of $300 up front with $100 due in a few weeks ($400 total price, including next day shipping). As you may have guessed already, the $100 still has not turned up. He's promised me at least on four occasions that he'll have payment to me within a week. Shortly after the new year, he stopped responding to my emails altogether.
Granted, it's not a whole lot of money. But I'm unhappy with the principle of the matter and felt others should know about this situation if they are potentially doing business with him. I realize it is partially my fault to have faith in a stranger. But that is no excuse for Bill Tooney's unethical behavior.
Just a heads up.
