I have 4*55 watt PC's on my 90 gallon aquarium and I know this is not enough. Right now I have green star polyps, green open brain, and Xeniya doing well but i feel this is only by chance. The man at the lfs sugested metal halide but i was curious if it would be better to get 2 VHO's or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What you wish to keep will determine the lighting you will need. Enumerate the types of corals you wish to keep and we will help.

You may want to remember how many people with decent disposabl incomes try this hobby before finding out that there is some upkeep to it.

If you call the LFS's within two hours of you and ask for used Metal Halides you will probably find one for a fraction of new. I found a 250 watt with the store putting a $80 new bulb in it for $175.00, of course we started talking at $250.00 with no new bulb, but it came out rather nicely.
